I have the honour to apply for the post of First

Clerk in this Department, in which I am now acting and

which will, I understand, become vacant, shortly through

the retirement of Mr. Arthur on pension.

I was called to the Bar at the Inner Temple in

November 1891 and since November 1895 I have been in

practice as a Barrister in this Colony.
